About Chealu
Chealu began with two ordinary problems that turned out to be surprisingly hard to solve.
How Chealu started
Its founder needed a nanny for his child in the area where they lived, and separately, someone to handle a couple of small transport jobs — an hour or two of work, nothing more. Both were the kind of help that surely existed a few streets away.
Neither was findable. The people were there; there was simply no way to see who was nearby and willing. Chealu is the tool that was missing.
Why a map
Most classifieds ask you to guess a search term and then sort through results from thirty miles away. Distance is the thing that actually decides whether a listing is useful to you, so it is the thing the interface is built around.
Everything else — categories, filters, prices — is there to narrow a map, not to replace it.
Local means local
A service listing appears to you if the provider is near you, or if you are inside the area they travel to. An item appears if it is near you, because a sofa does not travel.
That asymmetry is deliberate, and every result tells you which of the two reasons put it in front of you.
What Chealu is not
It is not a payment processor, a delivery service, a booking system, or a guarantor. It does not hold your money or vouch for anyone.
It is a discovery and contact layer — it helps you find each other and start a conversation, and then it gets out of the way.
Who runs it
Chealu is built and operated by Appronox Ltd, based in London, United Kingdom. If something on the site is wrong, misleading, or ought not to be there, report it — every report is read.
